Quartz Valley Tribal Fire Department

The Quartz Valley Indian Reservation has been working on developing an operational Fire Department over the past several years.  The department is now equipped with two Type 6 fire engines, two Type 2 water-tenders, a Bobcat with a masticator and a snow-plow attachment, a Hand-washing station, backhoe, and a wood-chipper.  The Fire Hall is equipped with a small bunkhouse for a crew.

We aim to promote fire safety awareness, build relationships with community members and provide educational resources to ensure the well-being of the community.  The Quartz Valley Tribal Fire Department actively engages in community outreach events to foster a strong connection with the community it serves. These events include parades, youth empowerment programs, trunk or treat activities and other tribal council events.

The QVT Fire Department is under the umbrella of the Bureau of Indian Affairs and is considered a federal resource when assigned to incidents.  The Department also has “Hired Equipment” contracts with Calfire and other entities.
